Summer 19 is now on sale from Glasgow Airport, and we have a bumper programme lined up. This includes two brand new destinations in Kos and Naples, an additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft coming into the fleet, and more new jobs!

With flights and holidays going on sale today, this is another hugely expanded summer programme from the base and demonstrates our continued commitment to the airport. What’s more, there is even more news coming soon!

The addition of 90,000 seats means that 950,000 seats are going on sale, a capacity increase of 11% on last summer. This means an additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft will come into the fleet at Glasgow Airport, taking the number of based aircraft to seven. On the back of this growth, new jobs will be created in Cabin Crew, Flight Deck and Ground Operations positions at the base.

In Summer 19, we will fly to 33 sun and city destinations, giving customers an unrivalled choice. This includes TWO BRAND NEW DESTINATIONS:

  • Kos – weekly Tuesday services between May and October, giving local holidaymakers a choice of lively party towns, laid-back seaside resorts and traditional fishing villages – alongside beautiful beaches and traditional cuisine
  • Naples – weekly Sunday services between May and October provide a window into Italy at its most authentic. Daily life plays out against a stunning setting, rich with religious and historical wonders meaning that this compelling Italian masterpiece will stir your senses in every way.

In addition, holidaymakers can look forward to more flights and holidays to destinations such as the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Mainland Spain, Greece and Turkey. The additional flights and holidays are as follows:

  • Canary Islands – 16 weekly services to the Canaries. This includes daily services to Tenerife, increased number of weekly services (four) to Lanzarote, three weekly services to Gran Canaria and two weekly services to Fuerteventura
  • Greece – more choice, with seven Greek destinations now on sale (Corfu, Kefalonia, Crete, Kos, Rhodes, Halkidiki and Zante)
  • Alicante – nine services per week, with friendly flight times for families
  • Malaga – increased to six weekly morning services
  • Majorca – increased number of services means up to 12 flights every week, with more services out of peak periods too
  • Antalya – number of weekly services increased from two to three, as well as longer season in response to customer demand
  • Dalaman – 39% capacity growth thanks to four weekly services and longer season.

Steve Heapy, CEO of and Jet2holidays said: “We are putting our biggest ever summer programme on sale from Glasgow Airport, with two brand new destinations and 950,000 seats going on sale for Summer 19. The addition of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft represents another huge investment in our base here, and gives local holidaymakers even more choice and flexibility with our award winning airline and tour operator. Yet another summer of growth here at Glasgow Airport is only possible thanks to our loyal customers, and it shows that our hard work in offering them great value package holidays and family friendly flights is working.”

Glasgow Airport’s commercial director Francois Bourienne said: “’s decision to create jobs through the basing of an additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Glasgow Airport is welcome news.

“The move not only strengthens our position as’s largest Scottish base with seven aircraft, but with a total of 33 destinations to choose from next summer the airline will serve more routes than any other individual carrier from Glasgow Airport.

“The introduction of an additional 90,000 seats on a number of hugely-popular services next summer also underlines’s commitment to delivering even more choice and flexibility for our passengers.

“Both Kos and Naples are very popular destinations with Scottish holidaymakers and it is great to see the airline continually respond to increased passenger demand by adding these routes to its ever-growing destination list.”
