Scarlett’s first time on an aircraft!

The team at Glasgow Airport have had a very special visit, when Scarlett Dougan and her two brothers Phillip and Nathaniel came to look around one of our aircraft.

Scarlett was born with rare Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS) - where the right side of the heart is underdeveloped. She has already undergone major heart operations and will need a heart transplant when she is older.

Because of this, Scarlett has never been on an aeroplane before and was desperate to see what one looked like. So in stepped our team.

Courtesy of them, Scarlett had a look around the airport before our Station Manager Alan Reid took her onto one of our aircraft. Once onboard, Scarlett and her brothers spent some time in the cockpit and in the cabin, before having an absolute ball making some on board announcements.

After that, it was to the Airfield Operations Tower where they were able to get the best seats in the house to watch aircraft take off.

A huge thanks to all our team for making this visit happen, and an even bigger thanks to Scarlett, her brothers, her Dad Peter, and the British Heart Foundation for coming too.
