Make The Most Of Your Annual Leave in 2011

39 days leave

- get 39 days of sunshine for just 14 days allowance!

Leisure airline and package holiday specialist Jet2holidays are urging holidaymakers to make the most of the unique way the bank holidays fall this year – by only using 14 days annual leave to get 39 days away!

With the extra bank holiday provided by the Royal Wedding, along with the late date of Easter in 2011, workers across the UK are wising up to the fact they only need to use a few days of their annual entitlement to get an 11 day break. But people they need to book now if they want to get their top choice of destination to jet off to.

Steve Heapy, managing director of Jet2holidays, said: “The way the bank holidays work in 2011 is really unusual, so it makes sense to make the most of them this year! You could easily get an 11 day break across the Royal Wedding, Easter and May Day holiday, only using three days of annual leave. And at Christmas if you fly on the Friday 23 and return on the 2 January, again you may only need to use three days for a 10 day break. With the spring and summer bank holidays too – which fall in school holidays – it makes sense to make the most of all the ‘free’ days.

“Technically, for someone who has the basic holiday allowance of 20 days plus the standard bank holidays, you could go away across all the bank holidays for 39 days and still have six days annual leave left! At Jet2holidays we offer flexible durations of 1 to 42 nights enabling people to choose the length of their holiday to make the most of their time off. People have quickly cottoned on to the idea, so you need to book quickly if you want to make sure you can get the time off - or to bag the best breaks!”
