Jet2.com and Jet2holidays reports surge in bookings to Green and Amber List destinations this summer following latest traffic light review

Jet2holidays, the UK’s leading tour operator to many destinations across the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, together with leisure airline, Jet2.com, have today reported a huge surge in bookings to Green and Amber List destinations, as customer confidence increases on the back of the Government’s decision to extend the list of destinations holidaymakers can travel to this summer.

Data from Jet2.com and Jet2holidays shows that Summer 21 bookings to Green and Amber List destinations have increased more than 250% overall when compared to yesterday for departures in August, with customers looking to make the most of being able to enjoy a holiday in the sunshine this summer. In addition, the assurance and value that booking an ATOL protected package holiday provides has seen bookings for the tour operator’s package holidays rise by over 300% when compared to yesterday, as more customers flock to book getaways in August. 

Following the announcement that fully vaccinated customers (and children travelling with them who are under 18) can now fly to over 40 quarantine-free destinations this summer from across ten UK bases, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays restarted flights and holidays to all Amber List destinations from 19th July 2021 onwards from across ten UK bases. Since customers have been able to plan and look forward to flights and holidays to sunshine hotspots across the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Mainland Spain, Portugal, Malta, Croatia, Greece and Cyprus, the companies have reported strong demand in August in particular, as holidaymakers look to get away in the peak summer season.

We welcome a further extension of the Green and Amber Lists, and it is positive news for both the travel industry and holidaymakers.
