Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks expand Iceland programme in response to demand

Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have responded to strong demand for trips and holidays to Iceland, by bringing forward the start of scheduled services to the beginning of September 2021.

With Iceland expected to be on the UK Government’s Green List, customers can now get to this stunning natural wonder from as early as 2nd September with Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks. Today’s announcement means that customers can choose from a bigger programme of scheduled services to Iceland from Manchester Airport this year, in addition to scheduled services from Birmingham Airport.

The programme of scheduled services is perfectly timed for those wanting to experience the spectacular Northern Lights, with twice-weekly services now operating from 2nd September (Manchester) and 30th September (Birmingham) though to 22nd November 2021. In addition, scheduled services will operate from 10th February 2022 right through the summer season to 10th November 2022 from Manchester Airport, as well as from 10th February 2022 through to 25th April 2022 from Birmingham Airport.

As well as giving people more opportunity to see the Northern Lights and experience the natural wonders of Iceland, this offers great choice and flexibility with stays of three-nights or more available over the February half-term, October half-term and Easter.

In addition to this programme of popular scheduled flights, Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks are operating 37 three and four-night dedicated trips to Iceland from seven other UK bases (Belfast International, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and London Stansted Airports).

With 15 trips taking place between September and November 2021, and a further 22 trips between February and April 2022, customers are spoiled for choice when it comes to visiting this fascinating destination at the best times of year for experiencing the Northern Lights.

Whether it is the cityscape of Reykjavik, the spectacular Northern Lights, or the stunning Golden Circle and its geothermal lagoons, spas and waterfalls, Iceland offers an incredible variety of things for customers to experience and see.

Customers can pick from flight-only or package holiday options, with package options with Jet2CityBreaks available for a low £60 per person deposit. Package options with Jet2CityBreaks include a guided Northern Lights Tour, flights with Jet2.com including 22kg hold luggage, transfers to and from the airport, as well as a choice of 3 and 4-star hotels in central Reykjavik which provide the perfect base from which to explore and experience authentic Icelandic cuisine. In addition, excursions to the Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon and South Shore are also available to purchase.

All flights to Keflavík International Airport near Reykjavik will be operated by award-winning Jet2.com, and the full programme is as follows:

  • Scheduled services operating twice-weekly from Manchester and Birmingham Airports.
  • Manchester – scheduled services now operating every Monday and Thursday from 2nd September – 22nd November 2021, and 10th February – 10th November 2022, opening up Iceland throughout Summer 22.
  • Birmingham – scheduled services operating every Monday and Thursday from 30th September - 22nd November 2021, and 10th February – 25th April 2022.
  • 37 trips to Iceland and the Northern Lights from seven other UK bases, including 15 trips in September through to November and 22 trips from February to April.
  • Newcastle – ten trips in total, including two in October, two in November, three in February, one in March and two in April.
  • Belfast International – two trips in total, including one in September and one in April.
  • Edinburgh – two trips available, including one in October and one in April.
  • East Midlands – five dedicated trips in total, including one in October, one in November and three in March.
  • Glasgow – five trips in total, including two in October, two in February and one in March.
  • Leeds Bradford – eight trips in total, including one in October, two in November, two in February, one in March and two in April.
  • London Stansted – five dedicated trips in total, including one in October, one in November and three in March.
