Fowler Welch’s Alconbury location has won the International Procurement & Logistics (IPL) UK Haulier of the Year Award – the fourth year in succession the ambient, chilled, container and FMCG transport and warehousing specialist has picked up the award.

IPL is Asda’s in-house supply chain specialist which provides the best possible service at the best possible price for the supermarket chain, thus reinforcing Fowler Welch’s own credentials and making the award even more satisfying for the company’s Alconbury location.

The award was presented by Wayne Olivier, Deep Sea & Inland Logistic Manager (UK), Cath Evans, European Logistics Manager and James Perryer, Supply Chain Manager, at IPL’s Logistics Conference held at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate, in June.

In acknowledgment of its efforts, IPL noted Fowler Welch’s ‘dedication and service for UK inland container deliveries to its own sites in Yorkshire and Kent as well as the drop-and-swap trailer operation continuing to add value’. The award also reflected Fowler Welch’s ‘continued high standard of service’.

Peter Gostling, Fowler Welch’s General Manager, Alconbury, was on hand to receive the award. He said, “We are delighted once again to be recognised for the fourth year running by IPL and are looking forward to developing the relationship still further through additional services. This award has been received in recognition of Fowler Welch’s team performance and our ability to provide a 24/7 solution.”
